Flower Power

Hello lovelies!

I am terribly sorry for not having posted for a little while; I've been catching up on uni work, finding a job, moving house etc! Life has gotten more and more stressful by the day, so what better way to turn it down a notch than with a 70's styled shoot?
So the other day, high off the excitement of tie-dying for what feels like the first time, my sister and I got creative!

* paper flowers were stolen (sorry, they were too pretty to leave behind).

So, I hope you all enjoy seen the products of this photoshoot, hopefully there will be more to come! Until then, tie-dying..........

Urban Outfitters + Dermalogica

Hello Everyone!

I'm sorry it has taken me a little while to create this post, but I have been very tied down with work and the internet has been unnecessarily troublesome!
Nonetheless, a few little things arrived in the mail to brighten up this hectic week!

Firstly, the Urban Outfitters order I bought a little while ago finally arrived! I have to say, Urban Outfitters are one of my favourite brands; they find the perfect balance between rock and chic and make it look fantastic. Not only that, but everything I've bought from there (mostly on my European travels) have lasted ages and look good with pretty much everything I've tried them with). The only downers are that they don't have actual stores in Australia so you need to ship everything, and also they are a little expensive.

PRE-PACKAGE OPENING

POST-PACKAGE OPENING:

PURCHASES:

1. Wood Bottom Clog. Colour: Cognac. Size: 8
2. Red Printed Skirt. Size: S
3. Five Bells by Gail Jones (Book Depository; not something I'd usually choose, but I needed it for my course at Uni!)

And finally, I recently treated myself to a facial and the lady kindly recommended I try Dermalogica's teenage skin care collection called, "Clean Start". I was just given some samples, and I thought I'd give them a go. So far, the cleanser and day moisturiser have turned out to be amazing. I may end up buying the full bottles, they don't seem to expensive!

Right now, I'm just sitting down with some peppermint tea, and attempting to start the first of a long long list of texts I need to get through this semester! Let me know if you like the haul/style type blogs and I'll try and make them more often! I'd love to hear from you!

Dreaming of Europe

Ciao!

Given the ridiculously schizophrenic weather Sydney has been enduring lately (especially in holiday season!) I've been holed up in my cosy house, reading magazines and attempting to relive my European travels from Christmas.

Over the 2012-2013 summer holidays I took a 5 week journey all around Europe with my sister; from Rome to Berlin, Dublin to Paris, we had a fantastic time!

In Roma we immersed ourselves in ancient history, exploring the colosseum and watching people step all over the circus maximus while we just stared from the pavement, licking our gelato, unwilling to lay a finger on the precious grounds of the Roman games!

From Rome we caught a night train to Berlin, which I have to say was one of the best experiences of my life. It was tiny and cramped, and every time we opened the little window, little bits of snow would come in! Berlin had some of the best galleries, museums and art collections in the world and we really saw it all.

Though none of this lay a finger on Paris! It had been my lifelong dream to visit there (possibly as a semi-fluent speaker) and it was definitely worth the wait! I remember snacking on macaroons as we explored the high-fashion shops of Chanel and Lafayette, I remember visiting a friend and drinking chocolat chaud as the snow started falling outside!!

Unfortunately, at this point, I remember I am back home, in the freezing (for sydney) cold flicking through photographs of my amazing adventures. Boo hoo. Someone rescue me before uni starts!

Vintage Shopping Glebe Markets

Hello lovely people!

Today was SATURDAYY and as it was particularly sunny and warm I went with a friend to the markets in Glebe. These markets have everything from herbs, to fashion, to old jewellery and bits and bobs but I am mostly attracted there because of the amazing collection of vintage, second hand clothing they have!

Here are just a few cheeky shots we took during the day!

I bought some really nice clothes, including the suede jacket with the sheep skin collar ($10) in the last picture and some other cute things I may post in a vlog later on.
My hat is from David Jones (they have an excellent and very huge hat collection) and cost $79 and the black and white printed skirt I am wearing was from Urban Outfitters and cost $50.

We had a lovely day, sipping homemade lemonade, listening to an interested jazz music collection by a live band and browsing the hundreds of clothing stalls all of which had interested and beautiful clothes! If you are in Sydney anytime, I would definitely advise checking the Glebe markets out, they are on every Saturday morning on Glebe Point Road, and conveniently close to some great cafes and a delicious bakery for post or pre shopping snacks!

Lots of Love

Skincare Favourites

Hello Everyone!

This is my very first blog post for bellaboo beauty, so here goes!

Here are a few of my favourite skincare products which I have found to be really beneficial and work well for my skin! They are the basics that I pretty much use every day and I would definitely recommend to anyone with combination or sensitive skin!

1. Nude Anti-Oxidant Foaming Cleanser: I've found this cleanser to be really gentle and soft on your skin, perfect for every day use. Its great for preventing skin blemishes and apparently assists in anti-ageing (not that that's too important to me as I am pretty young!). It has oat kernel extract and citric acid, and it smells pretty fruity and refreshing! Its 100% natural, and good for sensitive skin because it also hydrates your skin as you cleanse.

2. Avene Light Hydrating Cream: I absolutely love this hydrating cream. It is 'light' so it isn't too heavy, it is like a watered-down milk cream to moisturise your skin after cleansing. I always wake up in the morning, after sleeping with it on, feeling refreshed and my skin feels really smooth and nice!

3. Avene Thermal Spring Water: This can be applied as a toner after cleansing, and I use it every day. It is odourless, but is really refreshing and luckily for me comes in a tiny travel bottle which is good to shove in your handbag and use to refresh your face on hot days! It is soothing and you can spray it on red or damaged skin to rehydrate. I really love this brand!

4. Burt's Bees Hand Balm: This one smells really nice, it has a lavender scent, and it works to really moisturise dry hands. The only downside is the slightly impractical container which makes the 'balm' difficult to get out and apply. Nonetheless, a great product which I really love.

5. Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream: This is also from Burt's Bees and its handy because you can carry it around in your bag. I normally wouldn't be bothered to 'moisturise my cuticles' but if your waiting for the train or watching tv its really easy to get some on your fingers and spread it to your cuticles. It smells really citrusy and it applies onto your cuticles really easily, moisturising and softening them. Who doesn't need that?

6. L'Occitane Beauty Milk: This product smells really really nice (like roses) and its in a cute little bottle, which is half the reason I bought it initially! It is enriched with grape seed oil and shea butter which is amazing for moisturising your face.

7. Perry's Lemon Myrtle Oil Body Lotion: I love this lotion so much, it smells like lemon myrtle oil and it applies really well all over the body. I bought it from a country market originally and I have been going back to buy more but I think you can purchase this one online.

There you go, my go-to skin care favourites! I hope you enjoy and feel free to post any comments or questions, I would love to hear from you!
